Why I write

“Be yourself; everybody else is taken” – Oscar Wilde.

I got inspired for a second when I read the quote by Oscar Wilde. But to be myself, shouldn’t I know mysellf? I kept browsing and found the quote below.

“He who knows others is wise; he who knows himself is enlightened” – Lao Tzu

What else do I need for inspiration? I started looking inwards to understand myself. Mark Twain and Jerome K Jerome helped me.

“Never put off till tomorrow what may be done day after tomorrow just as well.” – Mark Twain

“I like work: it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.” – Jerome K Jerome

That’s precisely me. A serial procrastinator. But I manage to get away with it somehow.

I also like reading. I like it so much that I buy all the books that I want to read. I still want to read them. May be, one day. I used to read health magazines regularly until I read this

“Be careful about reading health books. Some fine day you’ll die of a misprint.” – Markus Herz

Now, I didn’t know who Markus was but what he said made sense. Then I thought why read stuffs when you can write? I thought I should start a blog. But will it be useful ever? Dalai Lama came to my rescue.

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.” – Dalai Lama

So, finally, I started a blog. I was wondering if I should blog advising people on self improvement. Honestly, I haven’t done much myself to advise people. Also, I read this.

“I always advise people never to give advice.” – PG Wodehouse.

I obliged. I do not have a particular theme/topic for my blog. I post whatever I feel like because

“I often arrive at quite sensible ideas and judgements, on the spur of the moment. It is when I stop to think that I become foolish.” Jerome K Jerome

While I secretly wish that people read my blog posts, I also have a cold feet. What if they don’t like my posts? But,

β€œThe world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.” – Sherlock

So, I continue posting. I hope I was able explain about me and my blog a little bit here. With that,

“Welcome to the end of the thought process.” – Dr. Gregory House
